eaga is a family of companies that provide services and products that address the social, environmental and energy efficiency objectives of Government and the private sector.
This policy is a component part of the eaga plc Hazard Management Framework and should be viewed in conjunction with the Hazard Management (Health & Safety) Expectations. The purpose of the policy and expectations is to set out how eaga plc expect all Partners, Divisions, Business Units and Joint Venture partnerships to demonstrate commitment and leadership for Health and Safety.
We operate in a responsible manner ensuring the Health and Safety of people is paramount in all our business processes by:

Establishing clear responsibilities, expectations and objectives to improve Health and Safety performance;

Directing the Senior Leadership team to continually improve our Health and Safety culture;

Gaining certification to OHSAS 18001:2007 for the corporate Health and Safety Management system;

Creating accountability and transparency through timely and accurate evaluation, report and review of Health and Safety performance.
In order to prevent harm to people, comply with the law whilst achieving continual improvements and act in a transparent and honest manner, we expect our leaders to:

Ensure that the Health and Safety of people is our highest business priority, demonstrating commitment to a continual improvement in performance;

Comply with relevant corporate policies, expectations and legal requirements, placing risk management at the centre of all business processes, ensuring that Health and Safety risks associated with the delivery of activities, products and services are accurately identified, managed and monitored and in particular establish objectives and targets based upon our significant risks;

Attain certification to the Health and Safety Management standard OHSAS 18001:2007, ensuring that partners are actively encouraged to participate through mechanisms for effective consultation and that they have the opportunity to express concerns or suggest improvements that receive senior management attention;

Ensure that appropriate resources, information, instruction and training supervision is provided to ensure that all partners can complete their work in safety;

In addition to eaga plc health & safety policy, a Gas Safety Policy is established to manage the risks associated with works undertaken on Gas. Senior management are tasked with ensuring this policy is implemented, monitored and reviewed for effectiveness. eaga heating division and all of its operating business units shall comply with the requirements of the gas safety policy where applicable.
eaga plc has a clear organisation of responsibility and accountability for Health & Safety:

The Chief Executive has overall responsibility for ensuring the Health and Safety of our partners and others who may be affected by our operations;

The Executive Board accepts collective responsibility for eaga plc. Health and Safety Management and has appointed an Executive Director to report on these matters to the eaga plc main board.

Primary responsibility for the implementation of eaga plc Health and Safety Management policy will rest with the Managing Director (DMD) of each Division, DMDs may choose to delegate authorities and establish accountability within individual business units.

Partners and contractors alike are required to accept responsibility for the Health and Safety of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.

All partners are required to cooperate in the development and implementation of this policy and the
supporting framework.
The contents of this Policy will be reviewed to ensure that it is appropriate to our activities, products and services by:

Chief Executive and Executive Board for annual endorsement;

Corporate Risk Management on a continual basis;

Divisions to ensure their compliance and performance.
This Policy is made available to:

All partners through Corporate Induction and inclusion of the most current version on the intranet and documented management system;

Business stakeholders (i.e. installers, suppliers etc) via web based portals;

External interested stakeholders via eaga.com
